Who teaches your child

Shalaka founded Blossoming Mind after fifteen years teaching across KS1 and KS2. She teaches the way a good school does — real classroom teaching, clear expectations, and a focus on drawing the best out of each child rather than drilling past papers.

As Lead Teacher she sets the approach every tutor here works to, plans each child’s route through their exams, and stays involved after the offer letters arrive.

Anushka teaches Years 2 and 3 in English and Maths. She has assisted Shalaka with large groups as a Teaching Assistant at Blossoming Mind, and has taught at North Finchley Tutors for the past two years, where she still works.

Alongside that, Anushka coaches GCSE study skills: how to revise, how to plan a term, and how to convert what you know into marks on the day. She has built a considerable body of technique for doing exactly that, drawn from the ten subjects she took to grade 9 herself, and she is carrying those sciences on to A level.

This is coaching in method rather than subject teaching, and we are careful about the difference. Alongside it, she gives learning guidance and structured learning support — what to work on, in what order, and how to keep it going between sessions.
